  Why free school lunches matter
Posted by: Lilith7 - 08-10-2024, 10:53 AM - Forum: Opinion and Politics - Replies (6)

While its true that our generation never needed free school lunches, it is also true that there was then no NeoLiberal agenda affecting our lives, & there was then the reality that one wage could support a family.
There was no mean spirited agenda which does not mind at all if kids go hungry, & as a result aren't as able to learn,as there is now.

The very obvious point is that hungry kids are unable to learn properly; feed the kids & that improves the problem...unless of course, the aim  is to create a larger 'under class' who will do all the shitwork for peranuts because they've no alternative.

In which case those who want this would do well to look at history, particularly that of France & Russia...

  TV monitor
Posted by: Excalibur - 07-10-2024, 08:18 PM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (11)

I have a Panasonic Viera TV and a PC, both of unknown history, or if they even work well.

Connected eveything up with HDMI cable, fans spin, mobo lights flash, TV displays size? then shows video for about 1 second before going blank.
I discovered bios battery holding just 0.5v but a replacement did not fix.
During the 1 second of video, I can see it displays either:

Megatrends splash screen.
BIOS.
Windows desktop.

My thought is a config issue but I didn't have at hand a regular monitor to swap to.

Going back to this Thursday so hope to have a way forward by then.
Thanks for any help.

  Possible sighting of Marakopa family

They've got a helicopter up looking, so they think its credible. It would be lovely for the rest of their family if they could be home for Xmas.

Gmail search giving little to no results
Posted by: nzoomed - 07-10-2024, 09:57 AM - Forum: PressF1 - Replies (4)

I've noticed for a bit now that I have been unable to locate some email conversations in my inbox.
At first I thought I may have accidentally deleted the messages but today I when i went to look for an order reference number which is in the body of a fresh email that has just arrived and nothing shows, yet there are at least 2 other emails in here and none are displaying in the results.
Doesn't matter if it's my mobile app or my web browser.
Anyone noticed anything similar?
See screenshot.

  Fast Track Projects list

This will serve to burn a bit more political capital of the coalition. Some of the projects are more than welcome, others far from popular. And at day's end the injection of funding, or not, will be the telling factor as to whether some go ahead.

At the same spot he was shot at 12 weeks ago.
Looks like he is polling around 60% which is good news.

And of course they are going to say it's not their fault.
Timaru loosing their meat works is going to be a real blow for the region.
Carbon farming is not sustainable, not only will we run out of land, but also run out of money to pay out carbon credits once the population switches over to electric cars and stops buying petrol.
